The holiday cottages are set in the ancient farming hamlet of Wheston with its medieval cross. The hamlet lies just over a mile outside the well-serviced market town of Tideswell with its famous church known as ‘The Cathedral of the Peak’ and its equally famous Well Dressing Festival held annually in June. The village has a good range of independent shops – baker, butcher, greengrocer, café, deli, bookshop, chip shops, Post Office and a Co-op open from 7am till 10pm.
Wheston is centrally placed in the unspoilt Peak District National Park, a place where the traditional activities of hill and dairy farming are part of day to day life. There are glorious rambles both for the energetic and for those who prefer a gentle amble through the unspoilt and serene hills and dales.
