The Vicarage has been a family home since the 17th century. The stone mullion windows, thick stone walls and exposed beams and roof timbers are clear evidence that this is a special place and a historic listed building. The reception rooms and bedrooms are of a size that can now only be found in Gentleman’s residences of a bygone age. For the first time in its 360 year history this large country residence can now be rented for weekends, short breaks or stays up to a month. The Vicarage sleeps 10, with en-suite bathrooms to all but one twin bedded room. There is a downstairs cloak room (with WC) leading to one of the many hidden gems of The Vicarage...a sauna which is perfect for relaxing tired bodies and tired minds alike. The Vicarage has fabulous facilities for hosting large family celebrations. Last Summer witnessed a splendid wedding reception with the extensive private and secluded gardens playing host to a large Garden Party with over 100 guests. The Conservatory, one of the largest in Derbyshire, is surrounded by gardens on 3 sides and is also a perfect spot for entertainment or just relaxation. Ask about local catering options for special family events. The focal point of the farmhouse kitchen is the essential red Aga with its double oven and hobs. The farmhouse kitchen table is a natural gathering point, and often offers a view of the pheasants and squirrels who share the rear garden.
The Vicarage is ideal for small groups, an extended family or two families holidaying together. It can however be booked in conjunction with one or more of the three neighbouring cottages at Vicarage Farm. The three cottages, which are in separate but adjoining grounds, sleep 7, 4 and 4 people respectively. Vicarage Farm can thus accommodate groups of any size up to 25. |
Why compromise on luxury when going away as a group? Why should group walking holidays so often equate to hostel type accommodation? Let your enjoyment of the Peak District be enhanced by a special stay at Vicarage Farm.
The extensive drawing room, with its large inglenook fireplace and log fire, offers the space for entertainment or group meetings, or just informal entertainment. The adjoining snug, complete with library, provides a more intimate setting for conversation and reflection.
