Facilities

All of the properties are no-smoking.

Each property has separately controlled central heating and hot water.  The properties (with the exception of the Vicarage) have combi-boilers, all of which have been installed recently, to ensure an immediate and ready supply of hot water to bathe away the aches after a long ramble.  The Vicarage uses a combination of the Aga and immersion heaters for hot water.  Each property also has a full-sized fridge freezer (save for the Millers View which has a fridge with ice-box).  Those properties which cater for groups and/or the larger family (namely the Vicarage and Princes Seat) have a full-sized dish-washer.  Each property has a micro-wave cooker in addition to an electric cooker (or Aga in the Vicarage).  Each property is equipped with its own television, DVD player and radio.

You will find each property fully prepared when you arrive with all beds made up and towels provided (including tea towels and bath mat). Please let us know if you would like bread and milk to be waiting for you when you arrive.

Gardens in winterGardens
The gardens provide ample opportunity to relax and enjoy nature at its best.  There is a barbeque and patio area for those who wish to eat al fresco.  At the top of the garden there is a children’s play area with swings, slide and picnic table.  The beautiful private woodland supports varied fauna and flora, and visits can be arranged.  The woodland is particularly interesting as when planted over 20 years ago it was above the accepted tree-line for Derbyshire but never-the-less has flourished.

Laundry
A laundry complete with full-size launderette style washing machine and dryer is on site and an ironing board and iron are available for use.

Information Room
The information room displays the relevant OS maps for the White Peak and surrounding area.  There is an abundance of information and literature about the many features and attractions of the Peak District.  Please ask if you want to know any information about the area to make your stay more enjoyable.  We particularly enjoy tasting the local cuisine as part of our research on your behalf!

Games Room
The large games room is equipped with full size table tennis table, full sized pool table and a children’s snooker table.  For younger residents, there is a Wendy House and good selection of toys and games.

Tennis Court
tennis courtsThe sheltered tennis court is open all year round and indeed a tennis club regularly hires all of the cottages for its spring training camp.  The tennis court can be flood-lit by arrangement.

Parking
Off-road parking is available for 2 vehicles per property.  More vehicles can be accommodated with prior notice.

Pets
Well behaved pets are welcome.  We find that many families find their holiday to be incomplete if they are not accompanied by their family pet.  We make a small additional charge to cover extra cleaning to make sure that anyone uncomfortable with pet hair will never know your pet has stayed.

stables

Stabling
A paddock and stabling for up to four horses are available.  The stable area includes off-road parking for horse-trailers.

Recycling
All of our visitors benefit from the beautiful and protected environment of the peak District National Park.  We are keen to preserve the environment for future generations and to act as good stewards of the landscape and its resources.  Recycling facilities are therefore provided on site.
