FAQ

What time is check in/check out?

Both the cottages and the B&B rooms are available to check into from 3pm onwards on your arrival day.

We ask that guests be checked out of the properties/room by 10am on the day of departure to allow us to turn them around for the next guests.

What about group bookings?

Why compromise on luxury when going away as a group? Why should group walking holidays so often equate to hostel type accommodation? Let your enjoyment of the Peak District be enhanced by a special stay at Vicarage Farm.

Vicarage Farm Holiday Cottages offer versatile and comfortable accommodation in a Grade ll listed building which dates back to the 17th century. The thick stone walls, exposed beams and air of calm and tranquillity are clear evidence that this is a special place.

The properties are linked in one long building, with shared facilities including an all weather tennis court, games room and children’s play area. The gardens are large enough to host groups taking all the cottages together, with nooks and crannies for quiet space, woods to explore and a barbecue area to gather round. There are walks in every direction to suit all ages and energy levels!

Prince’s Seat sleeps seven and can host groups staying in the other cottages who wish to dine together; we can provide additional tables and seating, crockery, cutlery and glassware for your party to enjoy a special celebration or simply gather together for a meal.

Verger’s End has a large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area which can also accommodate additional guests staying in one of the other properties. Both of these cottages have saunas which are ideal for relaxing after a long walk, especially in the colder months, and log fires to unwind beside.
Miller’s View complements the other properties, with accommodation for up to four people and an air of snug seclusion and peace.
There are local catering options for special events and we’ll be happy to provide you with information about these.

The Vicarage can be used for group meetings and conferences by arrangement with the owners; please contact us for more information.

What about breaks for single parents/carers?

Vicarage Farm has some accommodation which is ideal for the single parent. We are conscious that single parents may often feel penalised financially and special rates are available for single parents at the Millers View apartment. Please contact us for more information.

What’s provided in the cottages?

The cottages are all designed to let you enjoy a ‘home away from home’. Each has a television and DVD/CD player and bedding, towels, kitchen/dish towels and washing up cloths are all provided for your stay.

Our kitchens are all well stocked with crockery, cutlery and glassware, as well as a great selection of utensils and equipment  for cooking and baking.

If you think you might need something specific please do get in contact and we can let you know whether it is provided.

Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the cottage(s)?

Absolutely! This is not a problem at all, the postcode to use for the delivery will be SK17 8JA, and most major supermarkets will deliver to the area, but please do check this before completing your order to avoid any disappointment!

If you would like to shop conveniently and locally you can also use www.SaucedHere.co.uk, a new online supermarket that is only stocked by producers and businesses local to the Peak District. There are over 1150 products now online from around 35 different local producers, all of which can be delivered to the holiday cottages at a time that is convenient to you.

Please also ensure that delivery time is arranged for when you will be in the property – there is often nobody available here to receive or sign for things and we wouldn’t want your shopping being taken back to the store!

What happens with a refund should we need it?

Obviously we do hope there will be no need for this bit! However, if you do need to cancel your booking for any reason you must confirm your cancellation in writing, by recorded delivery to us at Vicarage Farm (address below).
Cancellations will result in a charge being made; charges are calculated as follows:
